Concepts & Practices.

Pavement preservation represents a proactive approach in maintaining existing highways and roadways. Our goal is to put "The Right Treatment on the Right Road at the Right Time."
Accomplishing this improves safety and saves money by making
pavements last longer.

A pavement preservation program consists of three components: routine maintenance, minor rehabilitation and preventive maintnenace. Examples of preventive maintenance are: crack sealing, chip sealing, slurry or micro-surfacing, and non-structural ultra-thin hotmix overlays. Concrete pavement treatments include joint sealing, diamond grinding, dowel-bar retrofit and isolated concrete slab repair.

The Illinois Pavement Preservation and Maintenance Association (ILPPMA) consists of contractors who do this type of work and are knowledgeable and experienced about the application and effectiveness of these treatments. We are committed to working with city, county and state officials to further the cause of pavement preservation. We share pavement preservation goals with groups nation-wide, including the Midwest Pavement Preservation Partnership (MPPP) and the National Center for Pavement Preservation (NCPP).
